Hello David, I would like to tell you how to remove sliding drawers. I had an old wooden desk with sliding drawers. I wanted to paint the whole furniture, so I planned to take out the drawers. The wooden sliding drawers are comparatively simple to remove. You can do so with a solid tug. Let me explain the whole method to you below.

How do I Remove a Drawer with Slides?

Here is how you can remove sliding drawers from your furniture:

  1. Begin with the topmost drawer. You always move from top to bottom when removing sliding drawers. This is to manage weight and prevent the furniture from toppling.

  2. Clear the drawers completely. Then, pull the drawers as far as possible.

  3. Using both hands and some force, tug the drawer out towards your body.

  4. If your furniture has a one center wooden track, you’ll have to put in some extra effort.

  5. Two side tracks are easier to remove and use less force.

  6. You just need to put in enough force to pop out the sliding drawers one by one.

Following these steps, you’ll surely be able to remove drawers from wooden furniture. I hope this helps.
