Last week, I accidentally dropped some oil on the marble floor of my kitchen. To get rid of that, I did some research about how to remove marble floor stains. I learned that using dishwashing liquid with water works well in removing the satins.. Read on to get several methods.

How to Get Stains Out of Marble Floors?

To completely get rid of the stains, you need to act swiftly. Here are the steps that you need to follow.

  • Use a microfiber cloth to blot away as much oil as possible

  • After that, add a few drops of dishwashing liquid to some warm water and apply it over the oil stain.

  • If that doesn’t remove the stain, make a thick paste out of cornstarch & water. Then, leave it over the stain for around 4 hours.

  • The oil will be absorbed by the cornstarch, and you should be able to wipe it off with a microfibre cloth

And that is how to clean marble floor stains. I cleaned the oil stains on my floors by following these methods. I hope this information will be of help to you.

How to remove hard water stains from tiles?

I used harpic to remove stains, but it is a hard solution and does erode the floor, be it tiles or marble. My friend recommended using baking soda, as it is effective to remove dark stain on marble. I did not know the process, so I researched it online. It is quite an easy process. I am sure after knowing how to remove stains from marble with baking soda, you will opt for this process as well.

How to Remove Yellow Stains from Marble with Baking Soda?

I will suggest never going for market bought solutions. Most of them erode the floor surface. Use daily items to clean your floors. Here is how you can use baking soda to remove stains on marble floors:

  • Mix baking soda with water to create a thick, spreadable paste. Use a 3:1 ratio of baking soda to water.

  • Gently spread the paste over the stained area. Make sure to cover the entire stain.

  • Place a plastic wrap or a sheet of plastic over the paste to keep it moist. Leave it for 24-48 hours. This allows the baking soda to absorb the stain.

  • After the waiting period, remove the plastic wrap and use a soft cloth or a sponge to gently scrub the paste in a circular motion.

  • Once the stain is gone, rinse the area with water and dry it with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.

  • Stubborn stains may require repeat treatments.

  • After cleaning, consider applying a marble sealer to protect it from future stains.

I was very happy with the result, and I am sure you will be too. If you have more homely remedies, please share them with me once.

Diwali is just a few days away and I am sure many hindu households will be witnessing a full swing cleaning spree. In our house, my mother makes sure to prebook at least 4 of our weekends prior to Diwali to engage in aggressive cleaning. From utensils to tiles to floors, you’ll find us scrubbing everything. I won’t lie, I am no fan of the whole process but it is what it is. I noticed that our floor had a few stains which didn’t seem to go away in daily cleaning, so I wanted to know how to remove stains from marble floor? Thankfully there are many people out there who provided genuinely brilliant cleaning suggestions. I am sharing the tired and tested ones with you here.

How to remove stains from marble?
  • If you spill something on the marble, then I would suggest you wipe it with a piece of cloth immediately. If the spill sets in it can cause permanent damage. After wiping the spill off, wash the cloth and wipe on the surface again.

  • If the stains are old then first dust the marble off of the floor using a broom, or a cloth. Now dilute dish soap in water and dip a soft clean cloth in it. Wipe the floor with this solution gently and scrub if needed on the stains.

  • Please note that you should use a hydrogen peroxide solution on marble. Many people make the mistake of applying vinegar which leaves acidic marks.

  • Another way to remove stains from marble is by applying baking soda and water paste on the stained areas. You can cover that area with a plastic sheet or wrap for a few hours or 1 day. Now take a cloth and scrub off the paste from the floor and wipe with clean cloth.

  • If you feel stains are intense and need a proper professional cleaning then I would suggest you call for them.
