In rainy seasons, our bathroom gets dirty quite often and the urine smell seems to persist for a long time. I therefore hire professional cleaners at this time of the year. They are experts in how to remove urine smell from bathroom. They follow a brief process for this cleaning so let me share that with you next.

How to Get Rid of Urine Smell In Bathroom?

There are a few steps you need to follow to clean your bathroom and get rid of the toilet smell. Here is how to eliminate urine smell in bathroom:

  • Clean the Source: Locate the urine smell source. It usually comes around the toilet base, floors, or walls. To clean it, make a solution of equal parts water and white vinegar and spread it all over the bathroom. Let it sit, scrub it with a brush, and rinse with warm water.

  • Use a cleaning solution: Apply a cleaning solution specifically designed to clean bathrooms. At home, I use Harpic but the professionals seemed to have used some other good-smelling cleaning solution.

  • Baking Soda and Essential Oils: Sprinkle baking soda on the affected area and leave it overnight to absorb odours. For added freshness, mix a few drops of essential oil, like tea tree or lavender, with the baking soda before applying.

  • Clean Grout and Tiles: Make a paste of baking soda and water for grout lines. Apply, scrub with a toothbrush, and rinse. For tiles, use a bleach solution (1 part bleach to 10 parts water), scrub thoroughly, and rinse well.

  • Improve Ventilation and Freshness: Ensure good ventilation by opening windows or using an exhaust fan. Place air fresheners, such as activated charcoal or natural deodorizers, to maintain a fresh smell.

This is how to get rid of pee smell in bathroom. If you want, you can try clenching your bathroom yourself or seek a professional’s aid like I do.
