Hello Risha, I came across your question regarding the process for repainting interior walls. I repainted my bedroom walls last week and would like to help you with the same. The first step is to prepare the area by doing a little cleanup. You then move onto the wall to start the actual work. Let me describe the whole thing below.
How to Repaint Walls in House?
Here is the process to repaint your house walls:
You need to make the area ready for painting. So, move out your furniture, wall hangings and other items to empty the room. If shifting is not possible, cover the furniture and other items with sheets and protective covers. Then, cover your floor with newspapers or plastic sheets.
Next comes scraping off the flaking paint. You can use a paint scraper to remove loose and flaking paint from the walls.
Use fine-grit sandpaper to sand the surface and even it out. Look for any existing gaps and cracks. Use sealant and fillers to fill them up.
You can move forward to cleaning the wall with a solution of water and mild dish soap. Pat the walls dry with a microfibre cloth.
After this, prime the walls with a primer. Apply a single coat of primer and let it dry.
At last, apply the new paint you’ve chosen over your walls. Apply 2-3 coats of the paint and wait for each coat to dry before moving on to the next.
This is all about how to repaint a wall. I hope this helps.

Hi,
Do you think your interior walls have faded or simply need a fresh coat of paint, preferably of the original colour? Let me assist you with how to repaint a wall the same color. This is a simple task that does not necessitate the use of a professional painter or contractor. All you'll need are some basic painting supplies. Your walls will have a new, fresh coat of paint of the same colour before you know it.
How to repaint a wall India:You can follow these steps if you want to know how to repaint a textured wall
- Step 1
Clear all furniture, paintings, framed photos, and mirrors away from the walls you're repainting. With a broom, sweep the dust and cobwebs off the textured walls. Remove dust from the crevices of heavy texture with a vacuum. Fill the nail holes with vinyl spackling using a putty knife.
- Step 2
Chip off a little amount of clean, original paint with a putty knife and take it to a paint merchant, hardware store, or home improvement store for matching paint. Use painter's tape to mark the bottom edge of crown moulding and the top edge of baseboards if the wall is textured.
- Step 3
Place drop cloths against the base of the walls on the floor.
- Step 4
Using a sponge, clean the walls with TSP and warm water to remove any debris and dust. After cleaning, let the walls air dry
- Step 5
To avoid putting paint on adjacent surfaces, use painter's tape to adhere to the moulding and/or around window frames
- Step 6
Rough up the wall with medium-fine grit sandpaper
- Step 7
Using a paint roller, apply an interior primer layer to the wall. Allow three hours for drying, or as long as the manufacturer recommends. In the case of textured walls, stir the paint and pour it into a paint pail in a controllable amount. Using a tapered paintbrush, trace the perimeter of the walls adjacent to the crown moulding and baseboards. Paint the texture next to the trim with a dab of paint, then smooth it out with the brush
- Step 8
Over the primed wall, apply a light coat of a lighter-hued matching colour interior paint with a roller or brush. Allow at least two hours to dry before checking to see whether it matches since it will darken as it dries. If required, apply second and third coats of the same paint to make the hue match when it dries.
For a textured wall, pour paint into a paint pan. To uniformly load the roller, dip it into the pan and roll it back and forth over the grid lines. Long, smooth rolls are used to apply the paint to the wall. To smooth and blend the paint, roll it over the cut lines. Maintain a moist edge by rolling quickly.
Carry on in this manner until all of the walls have been painted. Allow the paint to dry according to the recommendations provided by the manufacturer. Apply a second coat of paint to the walls using the same process. Allow the paint to dry for 24 hours.
