How to Repair Dog Scratches on Wood Door?

Here are some easy and homely methods on how to fix a door with dog scratches:

  • Coconut Oil: You can try rubbing a bit of coconut oil onto the scratches using a soft cloth. The oil will blend the scratches with the natural wood colour and hide them to a great extent. 

  • Tea Bag Remedy: Brew a black tea bag, let it cool, and dip a cotton swab into the tea. Dab the tea over the scratched area and let its natural stain darken the scratch and make it less visible. Repeat if needed for deeper scratches.

  • Haldi and Lemon Paste: Mix a bit of turmeric powder with lemon juice to make a thick paste and gently rub it onto the scratches. Once it dries, wipe it off; the natural colour blends with wood, especially on darker doors, hiding scratches effectively.

So these are some remedies you can implement to fix a door that has dog scratches. If the scratch is too deep to hide, you better hire a painter so that they can apply wood filler and paint the door all over again to hide all the imperfections. I hope you will find them effective.
