He rushed towards home and tried to repair it himself. It is a very crucial process so its better to be aware of how to stop gas leak from pipe. Let me share how we dealt with it next. 

How to Fix Gas Leak?

Stopping a gas leak from a pipe is a critical safety concern and should be handled by professionals when possible. However, if you need to address an emergency situation, follow these steps:

• Evacuate everyone from the area, including pets. Do not use any electronic devices or create open flames.

• Locate the gas metre and shut off the gas supply using the gas shut-off valve. The valve is typically located near the gas metre and should be turned clockwise.

• Open windows and doors to allow any accumulated gas to disperse safely.

• Avoid operating light switches, electrical appliances, or phones, as they can create sparks.

• Do not smoke or use any open flames near the area.

• Contact your gas utility company or emergency services immediately. They have the expertise and equipment to safely repair the leak.

• Do not re-enter the premises until it has been declared safe by professionals.

If there is a pipe leak, they will change the entire pipe for you. If you feel you can do it yourself, you can try, but its better you hire an expert.

• You will then need to crack the line fittings to remove residue gas

• With rubber tape to seal the high-pressure gas line with the regulator 

• Use epoxy on a gas pipe to seal the pipe

• Tighten all the fittings 

• Turn on the gas line to check if the leak is present or not.

• Reinstall the plastic cover on the gas pipe.
