The process of fixing a hole in the siding depends on the size of the hole. I had faced a similar issue a few months back and faced the issue on my own. The process is simple, but it\'s quite difficult to find a tinted caulk or new siding piece that matches your house color. To find that, I had to visit multiple supply stores. So, if you are trying to know how to repair hole in siding, you can check the steps I have added below.
How to Fix a Hole in Siding?
As I mentioned before, fixing the hole depends on the size of the hole. I have added the process of fixing the three types of holes below. Since the processes mentioned below depend on the size of the hole, start by determining the size of the hole.
Small Hole
Fill the hole with a paintable caulk and leave it for a few days to dry.
Next, trim down the caulk to match the siding.
After that, paint over the caulk with matching colour.
Medium Hole
Remove the broken piece of siding.
Now, attach foil tape smoothly across the back of the siding over the hole.
After that, attach the broken siding piece back in its place.
Slowly spread a thin layer of matching siding caulk on the exposed foil tape.
Large Hole
Start by finding a matching piece from a siding and cut it in the size of the damaged area.
Next, cut off the top nailing strip on a replacement piece.
Hold the piece and cut it in the required size.
Attach this piece with a strong adhesive.
And that’s about it. The hole in my siding was small, and it was pretty easy to fix. Hope this helps.
