I recently decided to update the flooring of my kitchen. It looked worn out, and I wanted a fresh look without breaking the bank. I hired a professional contractor to guide me through how to replace kitchen floor. As I witnessed the steps that he and his team followed while renovating my kitchen floor, I’ll be happy to share them here with you.
How to Change Kitchen Floor?
The steps to replace a kitchen floor are as follows,
Choose the Design: The professional started by helping me pick the right style. He suggested a wood-effect luxury vinyl, which matched my kitchen cabinets perfectly. He measured the kitchen to calculate the number of vinyl packs needed.
Pick Durable Material: He emphasised choosing high-quality material, especially for high-traffic areas. A thicker vinyl sheet was ideal for my kitchen.
Prepare the Floor: After this, his team cleaned the existing floor thoroughly by sweeping and washing it. He explained that dirt or debris under the new flooring could cause uneven surfaces.
Start Installation: Now they started laying the vinyl boards along one wall, removing the groove from the first panel for a snug fit.
Click and Lock: Each new row clicked seamlessly into the previous one.
Trim for Fixtures: For radiator pipes, the professional marked and used a jigsaw to cut out sections from the boards before fitting them perfectly.
Finishing Touches: Finally, he tucked the panels neatly under cabinet plinths, trimmed them, and reattached everything for a polished look.
If you’re curious about how to change kitchen floor, this method is quick, affordable, and effective.
