It is human to make mistakes while you are doing some work. The same can happen when you fill TDS for the Income Tax Department. A friend recently taught me how to revise TDS return online on traces. Take a look below to know more.

How to revise TDS return online ?

You can revise TDS on the TRACES (TDS Reconciliation Analysis and Correction Enabling System)

Open the official website of TRACES

  • Log in with your credentials and select the option called defaults.

  • Further, select the option called  ‘Request for correction’

  • Enter details including financial year, quarter, form type, latest accepted token number.

  • Make sure to select the correction category as “Online”

  • Click on the ‘Submit’.

  • Now that the request number is generated.

  • Go to the defaults option again and select the ‘Go To Track Correction Request’

  • You can check the request from ‘View Request’.

  • Enter the request number. Once the request status becomes ‘Available’.

  • Select  the available / in progress status to correct the details.

  • Update the information for KYC verification.

  • You can now select the type of correction category from the drop down as ‘Challan Correction’

  • Make the corrections in the TDS.

  • Submit the form. The

    is now complete.

I hope all your doubts about the same have been clarified. If you need more help on
