Hi there. We have a wooden table in our house which is quite old. I really like the table because of its vintage look and the unique wooden grain, so I recently painted it with acrylic paint. As I received the suggestion from my father, I applied the sealant to protect it from wear and tear. Let me help you understand how to seal acrylic paint on wood. You need to clean the surface and then start applying the sealant. I am sharing the entire process below.
How Do I Seal Acrylic Paint on Wood?
Here are the steps I followed to apply paint sealer after painting wood with acrylic paint.
Once the acrylic paint dried completely, I gave the wood one extra day to absorb the paint and cure.
After this, I moved towards applying the sealer.
Before that, I wiped off the painted surface using a clean cloth.
Then came applying the acrylic paint sealant in a thin layer over the wood. I used a brush for the application of the sealant.
Before adding a second coat of the acrylic paint sealer, I let the sealer completely dry. Following the manufacturer’s guidelines for the recommended drying time, I waited for the wood to dry.
This is how do you seal acrylic paint on wood. I hope you find the steps I have shared helpful.
