How often do you need to seal granite countertops?

Granite countertops should generally be sealed every two to three years.

• The kind of sealer applied and the volume of traffic the countertops see determine how frequently they need to be sealed.

• You might need to seal your countertops more frequently if you use harsh chemicals on them.

• You might also need to seal your countertops more frequently if you live in a humid environment.

• It's a good idea to seal your countertops once more if you find that they are beginning to look worn or are more prone to stains.

How do you seal granite countertops?

• Select the Proper Sealant: 

Choose a granite sealer of superior quality that is made especially for natural stone surfaces. Find a penetrating sealer that will offer enduring protection without changing the granite's appearance.

• Clean the Countertops: 

Use a warm water and mild dish soap solution to thoroughly clean the granite countertops. Clear the surface of any grime, grease, or stains. Before continuing, carefully rinse the countertops and let them dry completely.

• Test the Sealer: 

It is wise to carry out a small test on a discrete, tiny area before applying the sealer to the entire tabletop.

• Apply the Sealer:

Pouring a tiny amount of sealer onto the countertop is the best way to begin. To uniformly distribute the sealer over the surface, use a clean, lint-free cloth or a soft applicator pad. 

• Allow the granite to absorb the sealer:

This should be done for the necessary amount of time as advised by the manufacturer. This usually lasts between 10 and 15 minutes. During this period, the sealer will be absorbed into the stone and form a barrier of protection.

• Wipe off Excess:

Excess sealer should be removed from the surface using a clean, dry cloth after the advised dwell time.

• Allow to Cure:
