How to Seal Gap Between Sliding Glass Doors?
Here is the method you can use to seal your siding glass doors:
Start by locking the doors. You have to install an insulation panel over the glass on your sliding door.
To do so, measure the door frame and panels. Use a pencil to make marks. This will help you in keeping track of the measurements.
Then, you need to measure from the outside edges of the flat door and the sides of the stationary panel in addition to the height measurements.
Ensure you properly clean the door frame to install the insulation panel flawlessly. To deal with mould and mildew in the frame, use antibacterial wipes.
Use the measurements you took before to cut the insulation panels of the right size.
Take help from the manufacturer's instructions to install the panels once you get the correct-sized ones.
You may have to shrink the panels with a hot hair dryer to develop the energy barrier against the cold that you need.
If you require affixing the insulation panel to the door frame, do so using double-sided tape.
Look in between the two glass panels. You will notice brush fin or fin deal weather stripping there. If not, you need to install this afterwards.
Peel the backing off the weather stripping where indicated and then install it on the door’s frame of the door and not the glass. Continue gill the gap has been filled completely.
Install compression strips along the vertical seals where the door locks if there are gaps that can be seen in the door frame.
