How to self attest documents online

There are plenty of apps available where you can self attest documents but I have always used Adobe Acrobat Reader and would recommend it to you all as well. All you have to do is:

  • Open the PDF file in this app

  • Select the option Fill & Sign in the Tools pane

  • Click on Sign and then on Add Signature

  • You have to select whether you want to type, draw or give image

  • Now after providing the signature, drag, resize and position it on the pdf file and it's done.

Why is it important to self attest copies?

Previously every document was asked to be signed by either a Gazette officer or head of an institution, office or more. However people at times became annoyed to sign so many papers and hence the self attested copies were regarded as enough to sanction a document.
