Hi, After seeing my AC being serviced so many times., I decided to get it done on my own. But before I got started, I went through a few videos on how to service Air Conditioner at home. After that, I started the process, and here is how I did it.

How to Clean AC Unit Inside House?

Before starting the process, it is necessary to cover the working area with a cloth to avoid extra cleaning.

  • Turn Off AC and Remove Air Filters

Before I started working on the AC, I turned it off. Following that, I removed the latches of the front panel and lifted it to remove the air filters.

  • Cleaning the Air Filters

I made a mixture of detergent soap and water and used a damp cloth to clean the dirt and grime around the filter slowly. Leave it to air dry after that.

  • Dust Off the Cooling Fins

The next step I did was to clean the cooling fins. For that, I used a hair dryer and blew away all the dust off them.

  • Clean the Coils

Then, I used a no-rinse evaporator spray. I applied it on the coil and left it sit for 20-30 minutes. You can also spray some antifungal cleaner onto the coils if you want.

Following that, you need to check and clear out any clogs in the AC by flushing out the drain lines. Then attach the filter back and turn it on to check if the AC is working properly or not.

And that’s about how to service Air Conditioner at home. I hope this helps.

How To Get Home AC Service?

Hi Buddy,

An yearly service call is required for your air conditioning system, just as it is for your vehicle's oil change. Although sending a technician out for an annual inspection and maintenance work is commonly referred to as AC service, you may be able to save money if you handle all of the cleanings yourself, and learn how to service AC at home.

Assist yourself with the expert electrician service from NoBroker to help you with servicing your air conditioner.

With that said, you won't be able to diagnose any deeper issues without the help of a competent professional, so a frequent checkup is essential to keep things cool in your home.

How to service split AC at home

:

Getting your air conditioner serviced is the first thing that springs to mind during the summer. Although it is advised that you have your split air conditioner serviced by an authorised service partner, you can save money by maintaining your air conditioner at home.

Although knowing how to do AC service at home might appear difficult at first, servicing your air conditioner at home is much easier than it appears.

  • Maintain a clean environment and take safety precautions

This is a simple process to follow. Make sure your air conditioner is turned off first. Remove the plug from the socket to make certain. Be prepared for the surroundings to become a little dirty when servicing your split aircon. Place a piece of paper or a towel beneath your air conditioner. Because dust particles, water,  and filth fall from the aircon while it is being serviced, they might contaminate whatever is beneath it. Also, remember to put on a mask to protect yourself from dust and grime

  • Opening the indoor unit air conditioner

Make sure to open the indoor unit first before beginning the servicing. Simply unlock the lock on the side of your split air conditioner to access the inside unit. After you've opened the air conditioner, you'll notice two filters that you'll need to remove. To remove the filters, gently push the filter upwards and remove it.

  • Cleaning the cooling coil and filter

You can see some dust on the filter as soon as you remove it. Simply clean the filter under running tap water and then dry it

  • Make use of a basic water pump

Use a basic water pump to splash water on the air conditioner's cooling coil after brushing off the dust particles from your split air conditioner. This will assist in settling dust particles in the drain tray and allow them to exit the air conditioner via the drainpipe

  • Closing the air conditioner and cleaning the exterior

After you've finished using the water pump, return the filters to their original positions and close the indoor unit by softly pulling the indoor flap to secure it. Finally, all you need is a dry cloth to wipe the air conditioner's outer body and a switch to test the cooling effect

I would like to conclude my answer here about how to service AC at home.

I hope this helps:)
