Gone are the days when people liked simple and one-coloured things. From curtains to paints and to floors, everything is coming in texture and those are indeed elegant and give a unique look to your house. Last month me and my husband visited my sister-in-laws house during their housewarming ceremony and were astonished by the beauty of the stained floor. She said that they had an ordinary concrete floor previously but changed it and then only moved in here. I was so mesmerised by its look that I asked her

how to stain existing concrete floors? She laughed and said just have a talk with the designer and get to know yourself.

Redesign your house with NoBroker Home Interior designers and let the stained floor astonish your guests as well.

To be honest you all can do it yourself as well if you follow the methods correctly but I would suggest you hire some experts to do the task if you too have no idea about the process like us.

I would like to tell you everything steps by step what the designers did to give an excellent result:

Cleaning the surface:

At first they made sure that the surface or floor was clean. There were some dust and debris on our floor so at first they removed all of the dirt and made it clear with a floor cleaning machine

Mark the areas where there needs to be no stain:

I am sure you don’t want to have each and every corner of your house to get stained. Like thresholds, baseboards, walls and more. They used tape on those areas and covered them completely.

Applied the colour:

They used spray to colour the floor mostly but also used brushes on the corners and to mix colours. If you want to have two-three colours or more, tell them and they will work accordingly.  We used two shades of brown to give the surface a wooden floor effect.

Sealed the colour:

Sealing the colour is very important after colouring anything be it wall or floor. They applied two coats of sealer at a time gap of 4 to 5 hours and asked us to wait for 3-4 days before we can start walking on the floor.

I am glad that I asked my in-law about

how to stain existing concrete floors or else I would have never been able to get such a perfect result.
