Leaks and cracks can be dangerous, and we all notice them every year. So, as soon as you notice any cracks or holes, take some steps to fill them. If ignored it can create a bigger mess. It can cause leakage and during the monsoon, water may drip inside your house. Leaving the holes as it is can also invite the harmful fungus to grow, which can be lethal to your health. So, before the monsoon season, you should inspect your rooftop thoroughly and try to seal your cracks to avoid leakages. It won't take a huge amount of time to seal holes or cracks. But even if you have leakages during monsoon there are some temporary solutions on how to stop roof leaks.

How to stop a roof leak in the rain?

If you have leakages during the rain, the solution would be to place a bucket to hold the water in. Later after the rain stops and everything is dried up you can go to the rooftop and follow the steps I have mentioned:

  1. Firstly, you need to waterproof the cracks to prevent leakage, so you need to figure out the spot from where the water is leaking.

  2. To waterproof, clean the cracks and remove the dirt.

  3. Take epoxy grouting and seal the hole or crack with epoxy gel immediately. If you have Plaster of Paris, you can also use it to fill the cracks.

  4. Paint the roof after the gel dries if required.

This is the process I followed when I had leakages in my house and I found the results to be effective. I hope you find this answer on how to stop roof leaks informative.
