My sister stays abroad, and I was trying to send her some money. But when I tried to send the money I wasn’t able to figure out how to do the transfer. I called the SBI helpline number and explained the whole situation to them. The executive assured me that he would help resolve the query on how to transfer money to SBI NRI account. He told me to start the process by logging in to SBI internet banking.
How to Transfer Money to NRI SBI Account?
After logging in to my SBI Internet banking, he asked me to add a beneficiary for the remittance. He also told me about the steps for that, which I have added below.
Go to the Profile tab and enter your Password.
Next, locate and click on the Manage Beneficiary tab.
After that, click on the ‘Outward Remittance Beneficiary for NRE / FCNR (B) Account’ option.
Now, enter the details of the beneficiary.
He said an OTP would be sent to my registered mobile number. I have to enter that and click on Submit. The process might take a few hours, and after that I can follow the below steps to send the money.
He asked me to locate and click on the Payments / Transfers tab.
Next, click on the International Funds Transfer tab on the left-hand side.
Click on NRI - Outward / Inward Transfer / Remittances.
Finally, he asked me to select and enter the request details and proceed accordingly. That’s how to complete the whole transfer process. Hope this helps.
