Hi there. The process of learning how to unblock a drain outside involves making a cleaning solution using boiling water, bicarbonate soda and vinegar. I have shared the amount and the process below. This is a technique we came up with when the same happened at our house a month ago. We had tried multiple things, but nothing worked until this one. We repeated the process around 5 times to completely get rid of the blockage. So, I am positive this will help you too.

How to Unblock an Outside Drain Pipe?

I use a simple trick to unblock my outside drain pipe. Here is what I do.

  1. Take a pan and boil water in it. On the side, keep a cup of vinegar and a cup of bicarbonate soda with you.

  2. Now, go towards the drain pipe and remove the cover.

  3. Pour the boiling water into the drain, and add bicarbonate soda and vinegar to it.

  4. This should lead to bubbles and fizz.

  5. Lastly, replace the drain cover.

You will need to repeat this process every 2 hours, till the pipe has been completely unclogged. I know this is a bit exhausting, but you’ll be able to get good results with it.

But yes, if the issue is a bit more serious, you must consult a plumber for professional help. A one-time expense is better than problems which will cost way more. I hope you have learned how to clear a blocked drain outside.
