I have a bathtub at my home and it got quite clogged 5 months ago. I tried to fix it by plunger but again after a few weeks my bathtub was draining so slowly that it became quite irritating and time consuming. Instead of calling someone, I decided to try doing it myself. So, I researched how to unclog bathtub drain full of water and found that it can be cleaned with baking soda and vinegar.
How to Unclog a Bathtub Full of Water?
Earlier, I took a plunger and put it over the drain. I pushed and pulled it up and down a few times. It helped a bit, but the water was still draining slowly. So, I thought I’d try something else. Here is the process I followed this time to clean my bathtub full of water:
I went to the kitchen and got some baking soda and vinegar.
I poured the baking soda into the drain and then added the vinegar. It made a fizzing sound.
I let it sit for about 10 minutes to break down the stuff causing the clog.
After that, I boiled some water and poured it down the drain. The hot water helped clear out a lot of the gunk. But there was still some blockage.
So, I found an old wire hanger, straightened it out, and used it to pull out the hair and soap scum stuck in the drain. It was a bit gross, but it worked.
Finally, I rinsed everything with hot water. The drain started working much better.
It took a little bit of effort, but it was worth it. Now, my bathtub drains like it should, and I’m happy I managed to fix it myself. I hope this helps you get an idea of how to unclog a bathtub drain with standing water.
