How to Understand Vastu Directions?

I recently moved into a new flat, however I had no idea what my house's Vastu directions were.

So, I researched how to understand Vastu directions. I found that I can use a compass to find the Vastu of my home. However, when I first started looking into Vastu, it seemed a bit overwhelming, but once I got the hang of the basics, it was actually pretty simple.

Vastu Shastra is all about aligning your home or workspace with natural energies to create a balanced, positive environment. The main thing is to understand the four basic directions, North, South, East, and West and their sub-directions like North East and Southwest.

• To start, I looked at a simple mobile compass to figure out the directions in my home.

• Once I found North, everything else made sense. The North is said to be linked to prosperity, so it’s good to place valuables or financial papers in that direction. 

• East is associated with positivity and growth, which is why many people prefer having windows or entrances facing East. 

• The South is connected with strength, so placing heavier furniture or storage in this direction is ideal. 

• I found that the West is all about stability, making it a good area for offices or living rooms.

• As for sub-directions, Northeast is considered super auspicious, so I try to keep that area clear of clutter. 

• On the flip side, Southwest is a strong area for bedrooms or storage.

Honestly, you don’t need to go all out and change everything. Even small adjustments, like shifting furniture or organising things in a way that fits with these directions, can make a noticeable difference.
