Recently, I received a notification from Canara Bank to get my KYC reupdated to ensure my account remains active and compliant with regulatory norms. I asked the manager regarding the process and he said it can be done by SMS or internet banking.

How to Update KYC in Canara Bank Online?

Here’s a step-by-step guide that I came to learn from my manager. You can update your KYC through SMS and email. 

  • For SMS: send REKYC <space> 1234567 to 56161 from your registered mobile number.

  • For email: send REKYC <space> 1234567 as subject to

    rekyc@canarabank.com

    from your registered mail id.

If you are doing it offline, to update your KYC, you need to submit proof of identity and address. Commonly accepted documents include an Aadhaar card, PAN card, passport, voter ID, or driving licence for identity proof, and a recent utility bill, rent agreement, or bank statement for address proof.

The bank will verify the details provided and update your records. This process usually takes a few working days. Once verified, the bank will notify you of the successful KYC update.
