How to Wallpaper Outside Corners?

One of the walls of my bedroom has an outside corner, which is a part of my living room. Now, I was trying to use wallpaper on that but I wasn’t able to figure out how to wallpaper outside corners. I learned that before starting, I need to measure wallpaper carefully to ensure that its edges are straight. After that, I had to cut it precisely to avoid uneven sections. 

How to End Wallpaper on An Outside Corner?

Now, following what I mentioned above, you can go ahead with the below steps to learn how to wallpaper the outside corners. 

• Fold the wallpaper similar to the corner shape to ensure proper alignment. Now, this could be 90 degrees, L-shaped, etc. 

• Next, apply a little bit of glue to the wallpaper before folding. Don’t add too much glue as it could lead to distortions. 

• After folding the wallpaper, press it along the edges to secure it in its place. 

• Don’t be in a hurry or it could lead to disasters. I would suggest doing a few trials before the actual work.

How to Wallpaper Around External Corners?

Here is how you can wallpaper around external corners:

1. First, measure the distance between the edge of the last wallpaper piece you placed and the corner. 

2. Add about 3 inches so that it is able to wrap the corner. 

3. Trim the next wallpaper panel according to the measurements you’ve noted.

4. Now, hang the wallpaper and smooth it onto the wall. Then, wrap the extra 3-inch overlap onto the adjoining wall and smoothen it as well.

5. Cut off the excess part at the baseboard and ceiling. After this, align the next wallpaper panel and let it overlap the 3-inch extended portion to stop approximately ¼ inch from the corner. 

6. Ensure that the pattern of the wallpaper or its design is in sync with the last panel you installed. 

7. After you hang all the panels of the wallpaper, cut the extra paper at the edges and corners.
