After opening a bank account, you will receive a cheque book. A cheque is known as the bill of exchange on a particular banker. You can avail cheque in both print and electronic format. The person who has been issued the cheque can visit the bank and receive the amount stated in the cheque. Post-dated cheque is a bill of exchange with the future date written on it. How to write a post dated cheque?

Writing a normal cheque and writing a post dated cheque are more or less the same. The difference is the date you write. You need to mention the future date instead of the date when you are writing the cheque. Other than this you need to fill in all the important details of the cheque so that the person who has been issued the cheque gets the amount written on the cheque.

I will state an example so that you can understand how to give post dated cheque . Suppose today's date is 8th June you mention the date 27th August in the cheque. This is how you write post dated cheque.

You can give a post dated cheque if you have insufficient balance or if you want to write a cheque in advance.
