Is it okay for me to register the property in my name and then update the details or is it advisable to get the seller to update the khata details before registration? Please help. Additional details: The seller has received necessary approval for the building plan, but has deviated from the plan during actual construction. The construction was completed a few months ago and the seller has not received the competition certificate-- he says it is not important for villa projects.

You can visit your nearest BangaloreOne center As well as the filled application form, you will require a few documents to make a successful submission. The documents required for khata transfer include an authorized notary copy of the entire sales deed and an encumbrance certificate. You will also need to fulfill certain criteria such as DC converted property, tax payment of all properties, etc. levied by the BBMP.

It is advisable to get the seller to update the khata details before registration. However, if you decide to register the property in your name first, you can still update the details later.
