In Maharashtra, only agriculturists can buy agricultural land and start farming. This means you or your parents or grandparents should own agricultural land in Maharashtra or anywhere in India for buying agricultural land. However, in the latter case, where your agricultural land is out of Maharashtra, you can buy at the most 54 acres of land for agriculture.
