Hey pal, 

It is important to get an EC/ Encumbrance certificate for your property. It showcases legal ownership of the property. From what I could find, the single search fee is Rs 25; the Copying fee for every 100 words is Rs 5; For Computer registered Docs for every page is Rs 10.

This is the fee structure given on the website of the Karnataka government.
