I want you to know that Bombay HC said that the tenants and the landlord must conduct a structural audit once their building completes thirty years and then every ten years. Since the rent for property under the Pagdi system is low, landlords don’t maintain these buildings. Generally, tenants have to spend for the renovations and repairs of the building from their own pockets. Tenants may have to go forth with the property’s redevelopment. I recommend you consult a lawyer to know more about the laws regarding the same.
