Hi, if you are asking about the electricity meter reading process, then here is how it is read in CESC.
Always write down the number the pointer has passed. This is not necessarily the nearest number to the pointer. For example, if the pointer is between 4 and 5, you should write 4.
If the pointer is directly over a number then write that number down. For example, if the number is over 6 then write down 6.

8 as an example of meter reading. Now, if any number after an underlined number crosses 9, then reduce the underlined number by 1. In this case, the example we took would become 44928.
