As far as I know sunmica is the final finish only and one need not use any protective coating to save it from further scratches. To save it from scratches just opt for regular dusting or cleaning it with a soft cloth. They are usually scratch resistant as well so I don’t think you will need any further coating at all. All you need to do is just to take care of it. There is no such coating available for it but you can paint it all new and hide the scratches forever. You can also try using furniture sprays or polish if you want.
