Is it Better to Rent a Furnished or Unfurnished Apartment?

I am living in a fully furnished apartment now and I chose it after much consideration. I also had a doubt- should I get a furnished or unfurnished apartment for a long time but realised living in a furnished house is cheaper. I can even share my price listing with you to help you understand why I am saying so. Many of you might be having the same query so I hope my answer is going to help you all.

I am living in a fully furnished apartment and paying a rent of Rs 16,000 per month. I have

• Bed

• Closet

• Washing machine

• Fridge

• Table

• Sofa and a few more things

Now let me also share that initially, I planned to live in an unfurnished house and pay a rent of Rs 12,000 per month. Now the problem was, I had to rent things like a bed, sofa, washing machine, fridge, table and more. All these would have cost me Rs 6,000 more making my monthly rent go up to Rs 18,000. Now, this might seem that it is only Rs 2,000 extra but there are more things. Here are some of the problems I would have faced

• Not all the things might be rented from one company so I have to keep track of whom to pay and how much to pay

• I had to waste a great deal of time arranging these things in my apartment

• I would not have been able to leave the apartment in a short time since I had to return them all first which is time-consuming

• Selecting which appliances or things will be better is a difficult task
