Hi buddy. When I was designing my pooja room, I spent a lot of time researching the Vastu for pooja room in North facing house. I initially considered various directions, but I finally decided on consulting a priest at the nearby temple and getting the planning done by an expert interior designer, and also my husband agreed with me. I then contacted the priest and he said as per Vastu, it is recommended to have a North-facing pooja room.

What is North Facing Pooja Room Vastu?

After careful consideration and discussions with the priest, we decided to go for a north-facing pooja room, and I must say, it has worked out beautifully.

  • From my experience, a north-facing pooja room feels calm and serene. The north direction is believed to be connected with spiritual growth and peaceful energy.

  • When I sit for prayers facing north, I always feel a sense of focus and connection to my inner self. It’s like the energy flows effortlessly, helping me feel focussed.

  • One thing that’s important, though, is the placement of the altar. I made sure to position the pooja platform along the north wall.

  • I face east while performing prayers, which is said to be the most auspicious as it allows me to connect with the rising sun and start my day with positive energy.

  • While some people prefer northeast as the most ideal direction, I didn’t have that option. But I’m really happy with the north-facing setup.

I feel it brings good vibes into the home. I hope my experience gives you an answer to your question ‘can we keep pooja room facing north’.

  1. Creating a pooja room, a sacred space for spiritual solace, is a personal journey enriched by Vastu insights. As someone who has immersed in the principles of Vastu, I'll shed light on the auspiciousness and validity of can pooja room face north.

Orientation and Spiritual Alignment:

In the tapestry of Vastu Shastra, a pooja room facing north is regarded as spiritually favorable. This orientation is believed to resonate with Earth's magnetic forces, cultivating an environment that harmonizes the spiritual energies within.

Strategic Arrangement within the Room:

In my exploration, aligning the pooja room elements is as crucial as its orientation. Placing the altar or deity towards the east or west, with a east orientation for the worshipper, symbolizes a journey towards enlightenment for a north facing house pooja room vastu.

North Facing Pooja Room is Good or Bad?

  • Elevated Spiritual Vibrations: The north alignment is thought to enhance spiritual energies, creating a vibrant ambiance for prayers and meditation.

  • Positive Energy Attraction: By syncing with the Earth's magnetic field, a north-facing pooja room is believed to attract positive energies, enriching the spiritual experience.

Other Tips:

  • East and West are the second-best directions for the pooja room.

  • Always place the pooja room on the bottom floor.

  • Pooja rooms should be in the middle of large plots, whether they be factories, offices, hospitals, schools, or workplaces.

  • Always leave plenty of room between the god-idols.

  • Do not worship damaged or very old idols.

  • For the puja room, wooden doors work well.

  • The best colors for a puja room are white or pale yellow.

In fact, if you can have a pooja room in the North-east direction, that would be the best thing.

You can get a north facing house vastu plan with pooja room made from an architect who has thorough knowledge of Vastu or who can work with a vastu consultant to make the best floor plan.
