As given in the 2005 amendment of the Hindu Succession Act, of 1956, daughters also have equal rights in ancestral property. The amendment in 2005 made daughters coparceners, which means they have the same rights and liabilities as sons in ancestral property. This also includes the undivided property of your grandfather, father, or other male ancestors. Therefore, the daughters of your maternal aunt may have rights in your grandfather's undivided property.
