Last summer, this happened to my unit, where I found my Hitachi Split AC remote control not working. To fix it, I searched for the reasons behind it. I found there can be several reasons, including being far to the AC, blockages in between, malfunctioning LED lights and so on. Reasons Behind Hitachi AC Not Working with Remote
Here are common reasons and their solutions I came across.
If your Hitachi AC remote is not responding, you might be too far from the unit. Try moving closer and pressing the button again.
Some AC units need the remote to be within 20 feet to work. If you are too far, move closer and try again.
Ensure there are no obstacles. If furniture is blocking the AC unit or its sensor, move it out of the way. The remote sensor needs a clear path to the AC sensor to work properly.
Check the sensors or malfunctioning LED lights on both the remote and the AC unit. If they are dirty, the signal may not go through. Wipe them with a damp cloth to ensure proper functioning.
If you have tried everything, and your remote still is not working, it may be dead. You will need to replace it.
