In this case, I suggest you get the Encumbrance Certificate of the property from the registration office to know about the sales and other transactions. You can also check the name in all the other property documents like the title deed to find the actual owner. There needs to be a chain of documentary proof tracing the original owner of the property as well as the subsequent changes in ownership. The actual owner of the property has more authority to sell the property.
