Pet Rules in Housing Society?

I know it might be difficult to maintain a dog or other pet in a housing society since I adore animals. Thankfully, there are some pet laws in a housing society that tenants must go by to make sure that community living is not hindered in any way. Being a pet parent, I enquired about the pet rules in housing society, before buying an apartment.

First off, to protect our furry friends from harassment and unjust treatment, the Animal Welfare Board of India has approved several dog rules. • Cruelty is punishable:

dog harassment rules cannot be made by society. The "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act" makes it illegal to treat stray animals cruelly. Additionally, it is a crime that is sanctioned by Sections 428 and 429 of the Indian Penal Code.

• No feeding prohibition: 

No resident may be prohibited from providing food to stray dogs or cats.

• Animals protected by law: 

The "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act" prohibits the training or use of some animals, including bears, monkeys, and parakeets, for entertainment purposes. The majority of rodents and reptiles are likewise forbidden by this law.

• Train your pet: 

Give your dog enough obedience training so that it won't act inappropriately in public or become agitated among other neighbours.

• Get to know your pet: 

There are many unknown faces in society. Make sure your pet is aware of its surroundings and stays out of harm's way and doesn't cause a disturbance.

• Vaccinate on schedule:

All immunizations must be given on schedule. Anti-Rabies and Feligen/TriCat vaccinations for cats need to be renewed annually. Every year, dogs must receive the KC, DHLPPi, and anti-rabies vaccines. If your pet has a medical condition, medication must be given. Participate in and urge other pet owners to actively participate in your housing society's vaccination or sterilisation drives for stray animals.

• Observe social conventions:

Make it a point to review the society's bylaws and advisory before renting or purchasing a property. Follow them to prevent bothering other residents. Make sure you adhere to any designated times your organisation has set aside for your pets to visit parks and gardens.

• Aftercare: 

Make sure your pet is potty trained because hygiene is the main issue for most people. Even though it is not required by law, it is nonetheless suggested for pet owners to clean up after their four-legged friend if they have an accident on society's property. Maintaining your pet's hygiene is also advisable for both their health and everyone else's convenience. If you do decide to feed stray animals, make sure there are no leftovers once they have finished.

• Watch over your pet: 

Even if your pet is well-trained, you should always keep an eye on them in public areas. To protect their safety whether playing with children or going on walks, keep your pets on a leash. Make sure your pet is not unfriendly or aggressive toward stray animals or other animals nearby.

• Be a responsible pet owner 

by ensuring that your animals receive enough exercise to prevent them from becoming overly animated. Make sure your pet has plenty of food, drink, and toys if they will be left alone for a long time. Make sure they don't cause any problems while you're away.
