Hey,

Since your mother in law doesn't have a will ie she passed away intestate.

As per the Hindu Succession Act, 1956 (HSA)

,the property will be equally

distributed among her Class 1 legal heirs. This framework is followed in case of intestate succession. If the property is ancestral in nature, you will have a right in it.

  • Since there is no will, the property will be distributed among the legal heirs as per Hindu Succession Laws.
  • Being a widow of the predeceased son, she has the right over the property with other legal heirs.
