Standard 3 seater sofa size in cm:
We measure the size of the sofa on the basis of two perspectives:
Cushion’s width
Arm’s width attached to the cushion
Originally the size of the set cushions as per the width is 21″ (53 cm).
We have also seen that the width of the cushion is around 23″ – 24″(58 – 61 cm).
As per theory cushion seats can be 30″ (76 cm).
You will find that seat cushions which are 27’’ or wider are 2 seat sofas.
Coming back to the three-seater sofa the width of the cushions can be around 66″ – 74″ (168 – 188 cm) approximately.
So, to determine the total width of the sofa, you need to add the thickness of the arm as well.
Generally, the arms of the sofa can be around 3″ (8 cm) in width approximately.
Generally, they are between 4″ – 6″ (10 – 15 cm) but at times they can be even more than 8″ (20 cm).
You need to calculate twice since there are two arms on the sofa.
If we consider that the smallest cushion’s width can be 22″ and the smallest arm width is 3″, we can understand that a small three-seater sofa’s size will be 72″ (183 cm) approximately.
But it will be very hard to find a sofa which is only (183 cm.) So, the size of the three-seater sofa can be around 78″ – 90″ (198 cm – 220 cm.). You need to check the price tag of the sofa and you will understand the exact size of the three-seater sofa.
Since I have discussed the size in cm I will also share the standard size of 3 seater sofa in feet. The standard size of a three-seater sofa can be around 6.4 ft to 7.2 ft approximately.
This is all about how to measure
standard 3 seater sofa size. I hope you find this informative.
