You can draft a letter addressed to The Manager, BESCOM or to the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) (Electrical) stating a request to transfer the name of your electricity meter
. You can also obtain a NOC from the consumer in whose name the electricity bill or meter exists.
A possession letter does not make the buyer the legal owner of the property. For that, the buyer needs to get an occupancy certificate
which certifies that the construction work has been completed as per the approved plan and the building is ready for occupation
.
Regarding society charges, you can ask for a receipt of payment made earlier and show it as proof of payment. If they still insist on paying again, you can approach the consumer court.

The flat is construction-wise ready but not ready to give possession letters and the owner asked to pay society charges again which were already paid at the time of registry in 2022. They have not provided an electricity meter still but charging for also for that. What we should do? We are living on rent.
