Hi there,
The actual steel calculation is based on the design of the shed, but if the design is not provided, it is based on a rule of thumb based on experience.
How to calculate steel required for 900 square feet shed?Thickness to feet conversion
To determine the wet volume of concrete, multiply the square footage by the thickness in feet.
Exchange cubic feet for cubic metres
Using between 80 and 90 kg of steel per cubic metre of concrete
The slab will be 4 inches thick, assuming it is a typical shed with light loading conditions.
For instance, if your plan area is 30 x 30, then the total volume of concrete needed is 900 x 0.33 x 35.3147 = 8.40 m3. According to the rule of thumb, 80 to 90 kg of steel are needed per cubic metre of concrete, so 80 kg x 8.40 = 672 kg or 90 kg x 8.40 = 756 kg. As a result, you will need 672 kg to 756 kg of steel for a 900 sq ft rcc.
