Hey,

There are many methods that can be used to lay down the flooring. Different floor types ie vinyl flooring, laminate, and wood flooring have advantages and disadvantages. I will share with you floating floor problems. Floating floors as the name suggests are a type of floor that floats and doesn't need to be attached to the concrete.

Floating floors are generally floors that click together. It means that the floor clicks in place and creates a tight fitting. They are also known as snap-together flooring. The floor has an intricate tongue-and-groove system. It is used to make the structural foundation of buildings. In construction, it is put down in layers. 

What are the disadvantages of floating floors?

  • These floors will need to be replaced more frequently than other floor types.

  • A floating floor is layered on top of the subfloor. This causes a slim layer of air to come into the layers. 

  • The activities of the floor have a higher impact on the flooring. 

  • The floating floor shows signs of wear and tear to appear quicker. 

  • The floor will make sounds if you drag furniture on it or walk loudly. 

  • You will need to get a high-quality underlayment installed under the flooring.

  • This floor contracts and expands according to different humidity levels, making it not the most suitable type for a floor in India.
