We were astonished to learn about the different kinds of textured ceilings from our interior designers. After much consideration, we opted for the swirling false ceiling. There were other options as well, like spray sand ceilings, slap brush ceilings, stippled ceilings, and others. If you are not aware of the other types, you can learn about them here.

What are the Different Types of Textured Ceilings?

Our interior designers mentioned 12 types of textured ceiling designs, but I remember only a few and they are:

Swirl Ceiling:

This type of ceiling has circular patterns that create an artistic and visually appealing textured finish on the ceiling.

Spray Sand Ceiling:

Spray sand ceiling involves spraying a mixture of sand and joint compound for a rough, granular texture.

Slap Brush Ceiling:

This type of textured ceiling is achieved by slapping a brush onto a wet joint compound, creating irregular patterns and textures.

Stippled Ceiling:

This texture is created by stippling or dabbing a brush or roller onto the surface, offering a subtle and elegant finish.

Comb Texture:

In comb texture, fine lines or ridges are created using a comb-like tool, adding a unique and structured texture.

Skip Trowel Texture:

In this type of texture ceiling, joint compound is applied and "skipped" with a trowel, resulting in an irregular and textured surface.

These are some of the best textured ceilings people opt for but if you want more variations, feel free to ask an interior designer from the below link:

Hello,

Textured ceilings are a great way to add depth, character, and a dash of sophistication when it comes to designing aesthetically pleasing and distinctive living spaces. Let's explore several types of textured ceilings as we dig into the world of interior design.

Different types of ceiling textures

  1. Stippled or acoustic ceilings, also referred to as popcorn ceilings, were common in the middle of the 20th century. They commonly served as noise-canceling materials because of their lumpy, cottage cheese-like texture. However, because of their outdated appearance, they are less popular today.

  2. Knockdown Ceilings: To apply a knockdown texture to a ceiling, a slurry is sprayed on it before being flattened using a trowel or knockdown knife. It produces an uneven, textured surface that gives the ceiling a hint of modest intrigue.

  3. Orange Peel Ceilings: This texture has a gentle, somewhat rough finish and resembles the surface of an orange peel. To do this, spray a mixture over the ceiling, allow it to half dry, and then lightly smooth it.

  4. Swirl Ceilings: To produce a swirl texture, first apply a thin coating of drywall compound to the ceiling. Then, using a trowel or brush, create a swirling pattern. This gives the space a dash of class and elegance.

  5. Skip Trowel Ceilings: Skip trowel textures are applied to ceilings by first applying joint compound and then sweeping uneven patterns with a trowel. The result is more dramatic and artistic.

  6. Crows Foot Ceilings: This texture, which is created by randomly stippling a pattern on the ceiling with a special brush, resembles the footprints of a crow. It gives the room a distinct and eye-catching element.

These are some of the

different ceiling textures.
