I was scheduled to move my belongings to my new house. But on the day of the move, it started raining. I called a moving company and asked them what to do. The executive told me that they will take care of everything but to help me out provided me with a few tips for moving in the rain.

What are the Moving in the Rain Tips?

Use Weather Resistant Boxes

The executive told me that they will use weather-resistant boxes or plastic bins to pack my belongings. He said that these will keep my belongings completely dry and safe from humidity. According to him, normal boxes can have trapped moisture in them and that could lead to mold or mildew.

Designated Unloading Spot

He told me to set up a designated unloading area using a towel. He said doing this would help in keeping water or mud from tracking through my new house.

Keep Mats Handy

He asked me not to pack the washable mats in my house and instead place them in the high-traffic areas of the new house. He said  this will help avoid bringing too much water and mud into the house.

Towel Duty

Another advice was to put someone on towel duty. The job of the person would be wiping water off the items. This will help in avoiding large puddles, save the furniture from getting damaged, and will also reduce the likelihood of mold or mildew.

And these are  all the tips for moving in the rain. I hope this helps.
