When I was preparing for my recent move, I quickly realised how important good quality cardboard boxes were for the safe packing of the belongings. I did some research online about the different types of cardboard packaging and found out that there are several types of cardboard boxes, each serving a unique purpose, which made my packing process much more efficient.

What is the Carton Box Type?

  • As I was looking online, first, I saw regular slotted containers (RSC), the most common type. Books and other general stuff fit perfectly in these boxes. They are ideal for moving because they are simple to put together and stack nicely.

  • I also discovered double-walled boxes, which are more sturdy and ideal for larger and heavier objects like kitchen equipment or delicate decor. When I was packing my glassware, I liked how sturdy they were and the protection they offered.

  • I also noticed wardrobe boxes which have a hanging rod built right in. I could transport my clothes into these without folding a lot or wrinkling them. It saved me some time in ironing once I got to my new house and protected some delicate clothes.

  • And lastly, there were specialised boxes made for particular things, such as cushioned electronics boxes or dish packs for breakable dishes.

It is important to use the right kind of box to ensure that all your belongings arrive safely at the location. And for that, you must understand the different types of cardboard boxes used for packing.

How to Pack Household Items for Moving?

0 2023-12-03T20:08:49+00:00

I had availed of a local packers and movers service last year while moving within Bangalore and it was disastrous. They broke all of my crockery and even damaged my  coffee table. Keeping that in mind, I hired NoBroker’s packers and movers this time. They used different types of cardboard boxes to transport our goods and not a single one of our items was broken or scratched. NoBroker had dedicated boxes for TVs, heavy-duty boxes for large and heavy goods, standard boxes for common household items and other types of boxes.

What Types Of Cardboard Boxes Packaging Are Used By Packers And Movers?

Usually, packers and movers use a variety of boxes to fit all the items in a house. For example, NoBroker uses:

  • Standard boxes to pack commonly used household items. These boxes provide a secure enclosure for various belongings.

  • Wardrobe boxes or taller boxes equipped with a hanging bar to facilitate the transportation of clothes on hangers without the need for folding.

  • Kitchen boxes or reinforced boxes to safeguard fragile kitchen items like dishes, glassware, and other breakables. They will also use bubble wrap to wrap them all before putting them in the boxes.

  • Electronics boxes with extra cushioning to ensure the safe transport of electronic devices, preventing damage during the move.

  • Artwork and mirror boxes that are specifically designed with protective padding to safeguard delicate paintings, mirrors, and other valuable goods.

  • Mattress boxes with protective covers designed to shield mattresses from dust, dirt, and potential damage during transit.

  • Specialized containers, or climate-controlled or insulated boxes, that are used for transporting items that require specific temperature conditions, such as sensitive electronics or perishable goods.

  • Heavy-duty boxes that are sturdier and more durable options for large or heavy items, providing added strength and protection.

  • Secure and organise boxes for transporting important documents and files, ensuring they remain intact and easily accessible throughout the move.

  • Tailored wooden or cardboard crates designed for unique or extremely valuable items that require extra protection, such as antiques or fine art.

These are some of the prominent types of cardboard boxes that renowned packers and movers use.
