I was quite confused about which marble to choose for my house. To know more about them, I called a friend of mine who is a Marble trader. I asked him about the types of marble flooring and which type of marble would be best for my floor. He told me about a few marbles and their pros & cons.

What are the Different Types of Marble Flooring?

I have added all the information that he provided about the marbles in a table below.

Types of Marble

Pros

Cons

White Marble

Can provide a contemporary or traditional look.

Expensive and Regular sealing is necessary.

Black Marble

Has anti-skid properties and a wide range of options.

Needs high maintenance and can turn white on mineral exposure from water.

Brown Marble

High durability and can be used for exterior or interior decor.

Needs to be placed in a well-lit area and regular polishing.

Cream Marble

Has a good combination of various construction materials.

Hard to replace and modify.

Grey Marble

Has high durability and resistance to scratches.

Not good for high-traffic areas.

This is what he told me about the various types of marble flooring. After checking this list, I decided to go with the Brown Marble as it paired well with the colour of my walls.

Hi,

I have always wanted to get marble flooring for my house. When I got my house constructed last year, I decided to get marble type flooring. The types of marble flooring mentioned by Saisa and Mulan are among the best for sure, but these are pretty common, and a lot of people use them.

I always wanted to have something that is different from what everyone else uses. So, even before I built my house, I started researching some of the uncommon marbles. Here is what I learned after my research.

Various Types Of Marble Flooring

Here are some uncommon marble floor types you can use for your house.

Sofia Beige Marble

This marble type is a fusion of elegance and sophistication that can elevate your living space. You can use this marble in any space you deem fit, such as a countertop, flooring, accent piece, etc. This marble type exudes refined charm, thus making every corner of your house a statement of style.

Golden Grey Marble

The Golden Grey marble elevates your living space while giving off a timeless allure vibe. It is a masterpiece that has a mixture of luxurious gold and soothing grey tones. This marble type is quite uncommon and is a great example of the meeting between timeless beauty and modern design.

Brescia Medicea Marble

The Brescia Medicea marble is the right definition of when sophistication meets nature’s artistry. This marble is a timeless masterpiece that can immerse your space in luxurious beauty.

And those were some of the best type of marble for flooring. I chose the Sofia Beige Marble for my house. Hopefully, these uncommon marble type flooring will be interesting in your eyes. Do let me know which marble type you think is the best.

I was so happy when we finally decided to go for marble flooring. When we visited a shop, we learned about the different types of marble flooring and finally opted for white marble. I learned about a few other options so let me share them with you all as well.

What are the Different Types of Marbles for Floor?

The different types of marble floors are:

White Marble:

White marble, like Makrana or Ambaji variants, is a popular choice in India. I found that it is known for its timeless elegance. Its pristine white surface with minimal veining brings purity and sophistication to interiors, making it a favoured flooring option.

Statuario Marble:

Statuario marble has grey or gold veining on a white background. It is a symbol of luxury in Indian homes and commercial spaces. This high-end marble creates an opulent atmosphere, making it sought after by those desiring statement flooring.

Onyx Marble:

Onyx marble, prized for its translucent appearance, is used to create unique and luxurious flooring in Indian interiors. Its ability to transmit light adds glamour and exclusivity, making it a preferred choice for upscale spaces.

These are the prominent ones. You can go for some other types as well, as mentioned by Saisa. Just decide on your budget first and then opt for your desired flooring.
