I decided to update my home’s interior a few months ago. Our living room had a very basic paint, and we wanted to upgrade the feel of the room. So a friend of my wife’s recommended us to go for texture paint. But I wasn’t aware of the wall texture types, so I started researching them online. From there, I found out that textures can transform the feel of a room.

What are the Types of Textured Wall Paint?

• I found out about smooth textures first, which would offer a sleek, modern appearance. I wanted a sophisticated and aesthetic vibe in my living room, and this was ideal for that. 

• Then I saw the orange peel texture, which would give a room just enough depth without being overpowering. It was wonderful for my hallway, as it helped to hide minor faults.

• I also explored, knockdown texture, which gave my dining room a rustic vibe. Applying a thick layer of joint cement and then using a scraper to scrape it down produced a unique pattern that my mother really liked. 

• There is another texture, the sand texture, which creates a very tactile feel. I used it in my kids' playroom because it had a rough surface that was both entertaining and resistant to wear and tear. 

• Finally, I thought the stucco texture would look good for an outdoor terrace area. It created a classic, lush atmosphere that was perfect for my garden. 

Experimenting with different types of wall texture paint changed the vibes of the different rooms of my house.

2. Knockdown: This texture type is made in the final step of the wall texturing method. Here, the texture is smoothened out partially. It develops a flat but textured appearance.

3. Sand Swirl: Sand swirl is quite a different texture with swirly patterns similar to light sand patterns. It is a unique texture type.

Exterior Wall Texture

1. Solitaire: The solid texture has a protective plaster coat and has a great amount of resistance against mechanical harm. It has a finish of resonating granite and natural stone. 

2. Florentina: For a luxurious feel, you should choose this texture for your walls. They enhance the look and feel of house walls. 

3. Ruff and Tuff: This texture has properties like rain and humidity resistance. The ruff and tuff texture comprises modified acrylic emulsion, which is then strengthened using quartz.
