The tenant can ask for inconvenience charges which are caused due to the cancelation of the agreement by the owner before the lock-in period gets over. Inconvenience charges can be - shifting charges, home painting charges (in case the tenant did that), brokers charges to search for a new house, etc.

Hi Buddy,

According to my knowledge, If the landlord wants his residence vacated before the lock-in period, he must compensate the tenant with an amount equal to the security deposit as a compensation. In addition, the landlord is responsible for paying the tenant the reimbursement/refund.

Are you looking for a new tenant and want to do a tenant background check? Try the legal services provided by NoBroker. NoBroker can provide you with a landowner plan at a fair price, as well as legitimate tenants and rental agreement services.
