Though I am not a painter, I am aware of what does expired paint look like. Back when I was a kid, I remember my father opening a paint can that was in our house for quite a long time. When he opened the can, there was a sour smell, and the paint had become lumpy. Along with that, mold and mildew were also visible on it. After that, I have seen him storing paints. Here’s how you can do it.
How to Store Paints Easily?
Here are a few things my father used to do to ensure the paints don’t go bad.
He used to ensure that the paint containers were sealed, so that air could not enter.
Whenever there were leftover paints, he used to separate them into smaller airtight containers.
He also used to store them in the cupboard where there was no direct sunlight, and the temperature was kind of the same throughout the year.
Another thing that he used to do was label the containers that were halfway through painting. This helped him to recognise them faster and finish.
These are all the steps that my father used to take to store paints properly. I hope this helps.
