During the winter, we don't really like to take a bath. Not only in winter, but during the rainy season we try to avoid using cold water as much as possible. But nothing feels like bliss than taking a bath with hot water. To get hot water most of us install geysers at home. To answer the question, what is a geyser water heater, I would say a geyser is an electrical gadget which provides hot water via taps.

Call a plumber at your doorsteps and get your geyser fixed in no time! Expert electricians from NoBroker are here to fix your appliances at your doorstep.

Now that we know the geyser definition, I would like to state two types of geysers I have seen available in the market.

The two types of geysers are:

  • Instant Geysers

  • Storage Geysers

Instant geysers give limited hot water supply all at one time. The instant geysers can store up to 3 litres of water and you can install instant geysers water for bathroom, kitchen or other household purposes.

On the other hand, storage geysers can store water after heating and you can use the warm water throughout the day. Storage geysers are ideal for a family of four.

Now, that I have explained about the two types of geysers, I will share the difference with you as well.

Instant geyser vs Storage geyser

Instant Geyser Storage Geyser

Instant Geysers are generally smaller in size.

The storage geyser is larger in size.

The maximum capacity of the instant geyser is 3L

The maximum capacity of storage geyser is 15L

Instant geysers cannot provide hot water to multiple outlets as instant geysers produce water in lesser volumes.

Storage geysers can supply water in multiple outlets.

The price of an instant geyser can range from Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 5,000

Price of a storage geyser can range from Rs 7,000 to Rs. 20,000

Instant geysers consume less electricity than storage geysers.

Storage geysers consume more electricity than instant geysers

The minimum lifespan of the instant geysers is 7 years

The minimum lifespan of a storage geyser is 10 years

This is what is a geyser in a nutshell.
