To help with the standardisation of the measurement of land, people use a hectare as a unit. You can measure a plot in square feet, bigha, and hectares amongst either unit. Different states and countries have localised units as well. Keep reading to know what is a hectare.

It is a unit of measurement found in the metric system. It is used to measure plots of land. The symbol of a hectare is ‘ Ha’. Since the square metre is a commonly used unit. I'll use it to illustrate an example. 1 hectare represents 10,000 square metres.

What is a hectare of land in acres?

If you wish to convert your land from hectare to acre you should know that an acre is about 0.405 hectares and one hectare contains about 2.47 acres. Take a look at the table to have an idea about the conversion of different units.
