The ACD ADJ in electricity bill stands for Additional Cash Deposit Adjustment. I learned about it from the KSEB or Kerala State Electricity Board bill. As per the KSEB Code 2014, the KSEB is required to set a fixed amount as a security deposit for all customers. To calculate this, you can find the average consumption for the financial year immediately preceding the first quarter. The monthly bill is then calculated on the current tariff for the average usage thus obtained. So this is what acd means in electricity bill.
How is additional ACD in electricity bill calculated?
People who get their bills every two months are required to keep a security deposit for 3 month’s average usage bill. Customers who get bills every month are required to pay a bill amount equal to 2 month’s average usage bill. Now if the customer’s current security deposit is less than the amount so calculated, the lesser amount will be marked separately on the bill and accepted as ACD ADJ.
If the average usage decreases, the extra amount will be deducted from the bill and refunded. The bank also is charged to pay the interest on the security deposit every year.

The primary electricity supplier in the Indian state of Kerala is the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB). Consumers get KSEB bills, which guarantee that power is delivered to all areas of the state. ACD is the term used in KSEB electricity bills. Scroll down to learn more about ACD in KSEB bill.
What is ACD full form in electrical?
As Venkateshwar mentioned, the full form of ACD is Advance Consumption Demand. Moreover, in Kerala, ACD/ADJ stands for Adjustment/Additional Charges on Demand.
When a consumer consumes more electricity than they enrolled with KSEB for, an extra fee is charged to their electricity is known as ACD.
This can take place if a user buys new appliances for their house or starts a home-based business.
It is measured in kilowatts (kW) and determined by the needs of the consumer and the type of usage.
Calculation of ACD in KSEB
Based on the discrepancy between the quantity of electricity consumed and the amount documented with KSEB, the ACD/ADJ fee is determined. To determine the additional fee, KSEB will compute the difference between the two sums and multiply it by the prevalent tariff rate.
To prevent overbilling or underutilizing the infrastructure, you must precisely assess your power needs and adjust the ACD properly. I hope you got an idea of what ACD due in electricity bill means.

Hey buddy.
As Venkateshwar rightly said, it’s important to know the components of your electricity bill to have an idea regarding the consumption and how your electricity service provider is charging you. ACD is one of the components of the electricity bill. Read below to know what is ACD amount in electricity bill.
Make Electricity Bill Payment through NoBroker and Win Amazing Cashbacks!
I will explain this using the example of my KSEB electricity bill. In my bill, this amount appears as “ACD/ACJ”. Here, the ACD amount in electricity bill means Additional Cash Deposit Adjustment.
As per the Kerala Electricity Supply Code 2014, the KSEB needs to keep a fixed amount as a security deposit from every customer.
For the calculation of ACD, just find the average power consumption for the F.Y. immediately preceding the 1st quarter.
The calculation of the monthly bill amount is done on the current tariff for the average usage thus obtained.
If a customer receives a bill every 2 months, then he needs to keep a security deposit of the average usage bill of 3 months and if a customer receives a bill every month, then he needs to pay a bill amount equal to the average usage bill of 2 months.
In case the current security deposit of a customer is less than the calculated amount, then the lesser amount will be separately recorded on the bill and accepted as ACD/ADJ.
In case the average usage decreases, the excess deposit will deduct from the bill and will get refunded. The bank also pays interest on the security deposit every year.
As Venkateshwar mentioned, the ACD amount varies from one electricity provider to another. I suggest you reach out to your electricity provider to know more about the same.
I hope now you know everything about the ACD meaning in electricity bill.
